VIDEO: Invasion of Ikeja Electric By Nigerian Air Force Exposed On CCTV Camera

Armed Air Force officers invaded Ikeja Electric offices in Lagos, assaulting employees over the disconnection of their base due to unpaid electricity bills.

The military and Ikeja Electric are yet to issue official statements on the incident.

Some military officers, fully kitted in gear and wielding whips, forcefully entered Ikeja Electric offices without permission, causing panic among employees.

A viral video captured a female staff member fleeing toward the stairs as the officers stormed the premises.

VerseNews reports that the footage confirms a March 6 report by FIJ, which detailed how military personnel from the Sam Ethan Air Force Base in Ikeja attacked the electricity distribution company after their base was disconnected over unpaid electricity bills amounting to millions of naira.

An Ikeja Electric staff member, speaking anonymously to FIJ, described the chaos: “Military officers from the Air Force Base came to our office this morning and assaulted our staff because power supply to their base was disconnected. They seized employees’ phones and even locked some of them inside. They blocked the road and prevented other people from accessing the office.”

The attack was not limited to the Alausa headquarters. Officers also stormed Ikeja Electric’s Ago Palace Way office in Okota, Isolo, where they reportedly forced employees to kneel while physically assaulting them.

The dispute arose from unpaid electricity bills. Reports indicate that the Air Force Base had agreed to pay N60 million monthly for 10 to 12 hours of daily power supply, but accumulating debts led to their disconnection.

Neither the Nigerian military nor Ikeja Electric has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
