Terry G has sparked controversy online after pleading with Davido for a collaboration in a now-deleted tweet, writing, “Bless me with one verse.” This comes despite his public allegiance to Wizkid, whom he once described as the greatest of his generation.

Back in 2023, Terry G openly declared himself an unapologetic Wizkid FC, saying Wizkid was the best thing since Capri Sonne, though he admitted Burna Boy had surpassed him globally. He also previously claimed that Davido’s fanbase existed mostly because of giveaways.

On Nedu’s Honest Bunch podcast, Terry G ranked his top 5 Nigerian artists:

  1. Tems Baby
  2. Tiwa Savage
  3. Davido
  4. Wizkid
  5. Burna Boy

According to him, Davido rules Africa, Wizkid is semi-retired, and Burna Boy is the GOAT internationally and across the continent.

In response to his tweet, 30BG fans were quick to call out the apparent hypocrisy, urging Terry G to ask Wizkid—not Davido—for the feature.

Sources suggest the tweet may have been part of a PR strategy to promote his new single. Still, insiders maintain that Terry G respects Davido’s impact on the industry, regardless of past statements.

In 2016, Terry G was blacklisted after slapping DJ Jimmy Jatt’s protégé, DJ Phreez, at an event — an incident that damaged his industry relationships until 2018/19.
