A viral video has sparked outrage after Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, was seen touring and entertaining supporters in his multibillion-naira private mansion in Ibadan, which he reportedly dubbed “Government White House No. 2.”
Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, is facing intense public backlash after a viral video showed him entertaining supporters inside a multi-million-naira mansion in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The footage, which surfaced on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, captures Adelabu moving through the expansive white-finished property, adorned with luxury fittings.
The video’s emergence comes at a time when Nigeria’s power sector is mired in chronic underperformance, financial instability, and decaying infrastructure. The industry continues to battle a liquidity crisis, frequent grid collapses, tariff disputes, and ageing equipment.

Adelabu has previously disclosed that the federal government owes electricity generation companies legacy debts amounting to ₦4 trillion as of the end of 2024.
