Medical reports show that IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu’s health is deteriorating, with liver and pancreatic complications..

Medical reports show that IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu’s health is deteriorating, with liver and pancreatic complications, a growing lump, and dangerously low potassium levels, prompting urgent calls for his transfer to the National Hospital.
The health of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has reportedly taken a dangerous turn, with medical examinations revealing serious complications.
According to court filings by his legal team, doctors who recently examined Kanu raised concerns about his pancreas, liver, a developing lump under his armpit, and critically low potassium levels, warning that his condition could worsen without urgent medical intervention.

His lawyer, Kanu Agabi (SAN), told the Federal High Court that specialists had recommended his immediate transfer to the National Hospital, Abuja, for comprehensive treatment. He added that despite a letter to the Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS) advising urgent transfer, no action had been taken.

At Monday’s proceedings in Abuja, Justice Musa Liman acknowledged the urgency of the case but returned the application to the Chief Judge for reassignment, as the court’s annual vacation had ended. Kanu’s counsel, Uchenna Njoku, stressed that the request for medical attention was filed on September 1 but came up too late to be fully heard within the vacation period.
The matter is now expected to be reassigned for hearing before a regular court, even as Kanu’s lawyers insist that his health is deteriorating under SSS custody.
