Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has stirred a wave of online reactions after revealing she’s open to the idea of becoming a second wife, saying most of her potential partners are now either married or in their 50s.
Speaking candidly on the Air Service Podcast in the United States, the 45-year-old Afrobeats icon shared how her views on love and relationships have evolved over time.
“If I meet somebody who can really marry me, they are either in their 50s or already married. So, I don’t know… maybe I can be a second wife,” Tiwa said with a laugh.

The “Somebody’s Son” crooner went on to explain that she wouldn’t be a difficult co-wife if such a situation ever arose.
“I think I can get along with the first wife, and she’s going to love me because I’m not going to be troublesome. I’ll be going on tours, I’m not going to stress you. I’m very respectful. I know you’re the first wife, and I would accord you that respect,” she added.
Her comments have since gone viral, drawing diverse opinions from fans and critics. Some praised her honesty, while others questioned her openness to polygamy — a topic that has recently gained attention in Nigeria’s celebrity circles.
