- Davido has stirred reactions online after disagreeing with claims that Cristiano Ronaldo can never go broke, insisting that anyone’s fortune can run out if they stop earning and continue spending heavily.

Nigerian music superstar Davido has sparked conversations online after sharing his views on wealth and financial sustainability during a private dinner with some of Nigeria’s biggest football stars.
The gathering, which featured Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, footballer Victor Boniface, and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest, turned to a discussion about the massive fortune of Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
During the conversation, Victor Boniface suggested that Ronaldo could retire from football immediately and still never go broke because of his enormous wealth, investments, and business ventures.
However, Davido disagreed.
According to the Afrobeats star, no amount of money is immune to depletion if a person stops earning while continuing to spend lavishly.
“Anybody fit go broke,” Davido said, arguing that financial security is not just about how much money someone has, but also about how well they manage and sustain their wealth over time.
The singer further noted that while Ronaldo is incredibly wealthy, his fortune is not unlimited and could eventually run out if he stopped generating income and maintained an extravagant lifestyle.

Davido’s comments have since gone viral on social media, with fans divided over the debate. While some agreed that poor financial management can wipe out any fortune, others insisted that Ronaldo’s investments and business empire make it highly unlikely that he would ever face financial difficulties.
Cristiano Ronaldo remains one of the highest-paid athletes in the world and is estimated to have a net worth of between $1.2 billion and $1.34 billion in 2026, thanks to his football earnings, endorsements, and numerous business investments.
