He affirmed his respect for the military and emphasised that officers must act within legal boundaries during civilian operations.
The video, which quickly went viral on social media, shows Wike confronting a naval officer over operational issues at a project site. The clip sparked widespread public debate, with many calling for an official investigation into the incident.

In a statement to reporters, Wike clarified that he never used the word “fool” and that his comments were misrepresented. He reiterated his belief that military personnel must avoid carrying out illegal directives while performing their duties in civilian spaces.
