The President of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Oladele, has urged Christians to pray fervently for Nigeria’s unity and peace as the country continues to grapple with various challenges.

Oladele made the appeal on Saturday during the dedication and handing-over service of the Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Restoration, in the Agunbelewo area of Osogbo.

He reminded Christians that prayer—not harsh criticism—remains the strongest tool for confronting national difficulties. “We are to go on our knees over any unwanted situation, not just criticising people or destroying their image,” he said.

Oladele stressed the need for respectful communication, especially when addressing leaders, noting that the country’s culture encourages constructive engagement rather than personality attacks.

He added that divine intervention is essential for national stability and called on Nigerians to pray for those in authority. “As humans, you should not expect perfection from us. With prayers, we can ask God to sustain peace in Nigeria,” he said.

According to him, the reason the country remains united is because God continues to hold it together. He urged the congregation to pray consistently for Nigeria’s unity and for God’s intervention in current national challenges.

Speaking on the newly dedicated church building, Oladele praised the donor, Olasiji Olamiju—former Special Adviser on Public Health to ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola—for his generosity and commitment to the gospel, describing the project as “commendable and marvellous in the sight of God.”

He encouraged members of the church to emulate Olamiju’s example by dedicating themselves to good works and service to God. “Be committed and healthy members of the church, ready to serve with sincere hearts,” he advised.

Dignitaries at the event included former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande, former Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly Timothy Owoeye, former House of Representatives member Israel Famurewa, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Rasheed Olabomi, as well as other political and religious leaders.
