Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has announced a statewide day of fasting and prayer to address the escalating insecurity in the North-East.
The declaration was made during a statewide broadcast on Saturday, with the governor explaining that the initiative seeks divine guidance amid the rising threats to peace in the state.

“As a people of faith, we believe our security strategies must be underpinned by prayer. I hereby declare Monday, 24th November 2025, as a Statewide Day of Fasting and Prayer for the restoration of peace in Borno State and the country,” Governor Zulum said.

He called on all residents of Borno, regardless of religious affiliation, to join in praying for lasting peace and prosperity in both the state and the nation.
The governor stressed that collective fasting and prayer could strengthen communal faith and provide relief, reinforcing the belief that spiritual efforts are a vital complement to security measures.
