- Senator Adams Oshiomhole jokingly accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of violating their “peace agreement” after reviving the controversial “massaging woman’s legs” comment during plenary, prompting an apology from the Senate President.

A light-hearted exchange unfolded on the Senate floor on Thursday as Senator Adams Oshiomhole playfully accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of breaking a truce between them by revisiting the controversial “massaging woman’s legs” comment.
Speaking during plenary, the Edo North senator said both lawmakers had agreed to put past disagreements behind them, but claimed Akpabio breached the agreement by bringing up the issue again.
“I want to report to this House that the Senate President and I signed a truce of no more hostilities, and the Senate President breached the truce by reverting to a previous matter. The truce stands; you should not violate it, and I will not violate it,” Oshiomhole said jokingly.
His remarks came after Akpabio made a humorous reference to a viral video that allegedly showed Oshiomhole massaging a woman’s leg aboard a private jet.
The Senate President said the Senate had initially ignored the video because many believed it was likely generated using artificial intelligence (AI).
The controversial video, which surfaced on social media in February 2026, sparked widespread reactions online.
However, Oshiomhole dismissed the footage at the time, insisting it was AI-generated and did not depict a real event.
Responding to Oshiomhole’s playful complaint during Thursday’s sitting, Akpabio offered an apology.
“Let me first of all apologize to Oshiomhole if whatever I said could in any way injure him or make him feel offended,” the Senate President said.
The exchange drew laughter in the chamber, reflecting the cordial atmosphere between the two lawmakers despite their earlier public jabs.
The incident comes months after the AI-generated video became a major topic of discussion on social media, with Oshiomhole repeatedly insisting that the footage was fabricated using artificial intelligence.
