- Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been crowned Premier League Player of the Season after an outstanding campaign that saw him lead the league in assists and chances created.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Season following an impressive campaign for the Red Devils.
The Portugal international also recently won the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year award after playing a key role in Manchester United’s strong league campaign.
Fernandes matched the Premier League record for most assists in a single season after registering his 20th assist against Nottingham Forest last weekend.
The midfielder also scored eight goals in 37 league appearances to help Manchester United secure third place and qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
According to league statistics, Fernandes created 132 chances during the season — the highest by any player in the Premier League.
His total was 43 more than Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who ranked second on the list.
Fernandes becomes the first Manchester United player to win the prestigious award since former defender Nemanja Vidic claimed it in 2011.
