- Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to Portugal’s World Cup exit, saying he has no regrets after giving everything for his country, while reflecting on the three major trophies he helped Portugal win during his legendary international career.

Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence following Portugal’s heartbreaking exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting he has no regrets about his international career.
The 41-year-old football icon, whose World Cup dream came to an end after Portugal’s defeat to Spain, said he remains proud of everything he has achieved with the national team.
Speaking after the elimination, Ronaldo maintained that he gave everything for his country and would wake up with the same mindset despite the painful result.
“I will wake up tomorrow with the same mood as I did today. I did my best,” Ronaldo said.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also reflected on the remarkable transformation of Portugal during his international career, pointing to the three major trophies he helped the country win.
“I won three titles with Portugal. Before me, it was zero titles. I can only be happy,” he added.
Ronaldo leaves the World Cup with an unforgettable legacy, having inspired Portugal to unprecedented success, including their historic UEFA Euro 2016 triumph, the inaugural UEFA Nations League title in 2019, and another Nations League crown.
Although his quest to lift the FIFA World Cup ended without success, the Portuguese captain remains one of the greatest players in football history, holding numerous international records and redefining Portugal’s status on the global stage.
