• Nigerian music promoter Sam Larry has appeared publicly for the first time since surviving a road accident, putting to rest widespread social media rumours that he had died.

Nigerian socialite and music promoter, Samson Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, has made his first public appearance after surviving a recent auto crash, effectively dispelling widespread rumours of his death.

A video that surfaced on social media on Saturday showed Sam Larry celebrating with friends and associates. He appeared alert and in stable condition, reassuring many fans who had been concerned by reports circulating online.

The clip quickly went viral, attracting thousands of reactions from social media users, many of whom expressed relief over his apparent recovery.

The appearance comes days after unverified claims spread across various social media platforms alleging that the music promoter had died following a road accident.

His latest outing is expected to put an end to the speculation surrounding his health.

Earlier, Sam Larry’s associate, Akin Abolade, popularly known as Mr Lilgaga, had dismissed the reports of his death.

Speaking a few days after the accident, Lilgaga said, “Yes, he’s alive and not dead, but his condition cannot be ascertained because of how bad the accident was. We spoke after the accident. He’s alive, and I’m sure of that.”

Sam Larry has remained a controversial figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, particularly following the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, in September 2023.

He came under intense public scrutiny after videos surfaced showing confrontations involving the late singer before his death, prompting widespread calls for an investigation.

Sam Larry was later questioned by the police as part of the probe. Although his name featured prominently in public discussions surrounding the case, investigators maintained that the inquiry would be guided by available evidence, while the music promoter has consistently denied any involvement in Mohbad’s death.
