- The Nigerian Air Force says fresh airstrikes under Operation Hadin Kai destroyed a terrorist enclave and neutralised several fighters in Borno State after intelligence confirmed renewed insurgent activities.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the destruction of a terrorist enclave and the killing of several fighters during a fresh airstrike in Borno State as part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
According to the Air Force, the operation was carried out on July 10 by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area following credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activities.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
Ejodame said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged.
“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists,” the statement said.
The Nigerian Air Force noted that the latest operation significantly weakened the terrorists’ ability to regroup and move freely, describing it as another major success in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
Commending the personnel involved in the operation, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, praised their professionalism and commitment to the fight against insurgency.
“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge,” Aneke said.
“We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities.”
He added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain focused on consolidating the gains achieved in ongoing military operations against terrorist groups across the country.
