- Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has declared that Spain have nothing to fear ahead of their FIFA World Cup semi-final against France, insisting La Roja are capable of defeating one of the tournament’s favourites.

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has expressed confidence that Spain can defeat France in their highly anticipated FIFA World Cup semi-final, describing the two nations as the strongest teams left in the tournament.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Monday, the Spain international said many football fans had been eagerly waiting for the clash, which he believes features the competition’s two best sides.
“Ever since the tournament got underway, many people have been hoping for this match. For me, these are the two best teams at this World Cup. We’re not afraid. If anyone can beat France, it’s us,” Yamal said.
Spain have enjoyed an impressive World Cup campaign, booking their place in the semi-finals after eliminating Belgium in the quarter-finals.
France also secured a place in the last four by defeating Morocco, setting up one of the biggest fixtures of the tournament.
Both European giants entered the competition among the favourites to lift the trophy. Spain are chasing their second FIFA World Cup title after their historic triumph in 2010, while France are aiming to win a third crown following their successes in 1998 and 2018.
Tuesday’s winner will qualify for the World Cup final, where they will face the victor of the other semi-final.
