- Saudi Arabia has updated its 2026 tourist eVisa programme, limiting eligibility in Africa to only three countries.

Saudi Arabia has released its updated 2026 tourist eVisa programme, restricting eligibility in Africa to just three countries while excluding Nigeria and most other nations on the continent.
Under the revised policy, only citizens of Mauritius, Seychelles and South Africa are eligible to apply through the Kingdom’s online visa platform.
The Saudi eVisa allows approved travellers to visit the country for tourism, leisure, family visits and Umrah, excluding the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
The fully digital application process enables eligible visitors to obtain their visas online without visiting a Saudi embassy or consulate, significantly reducing processing time.
According to Saudi authorities, the programme is part of the Kingdom’s broader strategy to expand tourism, attract more international visitors and simplify entry procedures through digital services.
However, eligibility remains limited to citizens of the 66 countries and territories approved under the official eVisa programme.
The latest update means that Nigeria, along with the majority of African countries, remains outside the simplified visa scheme and must continue to apply for visas through the standard consular process.
