2027 Election Is Between Nigerians and Tinubu, Not Me — Peter Obi (Video)

- Peter Obi has declared that the 2027 presidential election will be a contest between Nigerians and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has said the 2027 general election will be a contest between Nigerians and the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking in a video that has gone viral on social media, the former Anambra State governor reiterated his claim that he won the 2023 presidential election but alleged that the outcome was manipulated.
According to Obi, the focus should now be on addressing Nigeria’s leadership challenges rather than dwelling on the last election.
“You know that I won that election and it was rigged but that is not a problem. It’s my belief that the next election is between Nigerians and the government in office because the public has had enough and they are determined that things have to change,” he said.
Obi argued that Nigerians have made significant sacrifices without seeing meaningful improvements, insisting that the country’s biggest challenge remains poor leadership.
“We have sacrificed everything and it’s not working. It’s time to understand that one thing is missing, which is leadership,” he added.
The former governor expressed confidence that Nigerians would determine the outcome of the next election, saying citizens have learned valuable lessons from previous electoral experiences.
“Nigerians will decide, so they will be the ones to say what is happening and I believe that they have learnt their lessons and they will find a way,” Obi stated.
He also stressed that his ambition goes beyond occupying the nation’s highest office, saying his primary goal is to build a country where every Nigerian child has equal opportunities to succeed.
“For me, the desperation is to see Nigeria work. I’m not desperate to be president but I want to create a society where the children of Nigerians will have hope, where a child of a nobody can be anybody without anything. So for me, it’s important and we must make it work because we have had enough,” he said.
