‘Every Time Money Na Water, How Much Do You Think You Have?’ – Umahi Slams Cubana Chief Priest (Video)

• David Umahi has criticised Cubana Chief Priest and other wealthy Nigerians over excessive displays of wealth, urging them to focus on achievements, scholarships and contributions to society.

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has criticised Lagos socialite Cubana Chief Priest and other Nigerians who constantly boast about their wealth, urging them to focus more on their achievements and contributions to society rather than publicly displaying how much money they have.

Speaking during a recent engagement, Umahi expressed concern over what he described as a growing culture of excessive show-off, where individuals appear more interested in announcing their financial status than demonstrating what they have accomplished with their wealth.

According to the minister, genuine wealth does not need to be advertised, as its impact should be evident in the lives of others and the positive contributions an individual makes to society.

He questioned the habit of constantly declaring that money is readily available, insisting that financial success should be measured by meaningful achievements rather than loud claims about personal riches.

Umahi also challenged wealthy individuals to reflect on how much they have contributed to society, particularly in areas such as education, scholarships and providing support for people in need.

He stressed that having money should come with a sense of responsibility, adding that successful people should use their resources to create opportunities and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

The minister further urged Nigerians to adopt a more thoughtful and strategic approach to wealth, warning that the growing obsession with showing off could distract people from pursuing meaningful accomplishments and making lasting contributions to society.
