Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has revealed her aspiration to venture into acting in the near future.
VerseNews gathered that the Grammy-award-winning artiste shared her dreams during an interview with BBC in London, where she expressed her desire to take on roles as a single mother in movies.
Raised by a single mother in Lagos, Nigeria, Tems acknowledged her readiness to step into the world of acting, highlighting her existing talent in the field.
She expressed, “I’m ready to act in movies. Not ready right now but I’m already good at acting.”
Detailing her preferred roles, she mentioned her interest in portraying single mothers, emphasizing that it doesn’t necessarily have to be a struggling character.
She envisioned roles as diverse as “a fun single mum or a single mum with mysteries, even a gangster,” showcasing her versatility as an artist.
Tems now joins the ranks of prominent Nigerian musicians like Davido, Wizkid, and Mr Eazi, who have previously expressed their intentions to enter the film industry, albeit not as actors, but as executives.
