Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, running for reelection under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is leading with a margin of over 65,000 votes in the ongoing election.

After the result from Southern Ijaw was declared, Diri garnered a total of 175,196 votes, while his closest rival, Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC), trailed with 110,108 votes.
