Air Peace has announced temporary disruptions to its flight operations following an ongoing industrial action and the picketing of its facilities by labour unions at airports in Lagos and Abuja.

The airline disclosed this in a statement issued by its management on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, saying the action had affected access to some of its departure terminals and prevented scheduled flights from operating.

According to Air Peace, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) were involved in the ongoing industrial action.

The airline said the entrances to its departure terminals at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1, including the Alpha and Zulu terminals in Lagos, as well as Terminal 2 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, had been barricaded.

“The ongoing industrial action has resulted in the barricading of the entrances to our departure terminals at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Alpha and Zulu Terminals) and Terminal 2 in Lagos, as well as the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Terminal in Abuja,” the airline stated.

Air Peace said the blockade had restricted access to the terminals, preventing the departure of scheduled flights from Lagos and Abuja.

“Air Peace sincerely apologises to all affected and stranded passengers for the disruption and inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond the airline’s control,” the statement read.
