Anthony Joshua has defeated social media boxing sensation Jake Paul with a sixth-round knockout in their heavyweight bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

Paul, who endured longer than many expected, showed resilience into the second half of the fight. In a dramatic fifth round, Joshua twice knocked Paul down before finishing him in the sixth with a series of heavy shots. Paul later revealed he suffered a broken jaw during the fight and said he would take time off before pursuing a future cruiserweight world title.

After the victory, Joshua immediately called out longtime rival Tyson Fury. “Put down your Twitter fingers and put on some gloves and come and fight me,” he said, signalling the possibility of a blockbuster bout in 2026. Fury, like Joshua, is a multiple heavyweight world champion, but the two have never faced each other in the ring.

Promoter Eddie Hearn also weighed in, expressing eagerness for the potential clash. “We want the Tyson Fury fight. That’s the biggest fight in boxing. Respect to Jake Paul, he did a great job. 2026, back to the real business: Tyson Fury and the world heavyweight championship,” Hearn said./

Joshua, reflecting on his performance, admitted, “It wasn’t the best performance. It took a bit longer than expected but the right hand finally found its destination. Jake Paul did well tonight, got up time and time again, and we have to give him respect. But he came up against a real fighter tonight after a 15-month layoff.”

Paul, meanwhile, praised Joshua and offered a candid reflection on his own effort. “I just got tired, to be honest. There was so much handling his weight. If I had better cardio, I could have kept going, but he hits really hard and I gave my personal best,” he said.
