BREAKING: WAEC Releases 2026 WASSCE Results

• WAEC has released the 2026 WASSCE results, with 61.54% of candidates obtaining at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

• Candidates can now generate their PINs and check their results online.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.

The examination body announced the release on Wednesday via its official X account, urging candidates to generate their Personal Identification Number (PIN) before checking their results online.

According to WAEC, out of 1,950,726 candidates who sat for the examination, 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 per cent, obtained credits and above in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

Candidates are required to generate a PIN and serial number through the WAEC portal before accessing their results on the result-checking website.

To complete the process, candidates will need their examination number, the National Identification Number (NIN) used during registration, and contact details for one-time password (OTP) verification.

The 2026 WASSCE was conducted between April 21 and June 19, with approximately 1.96 million candidates participating across more than 24,200 secondary schools nationwide.

While most candidates sat for the examination using the traditional pen-and-paper format, WAEC recorded a significant increase in the number of schools that adopted the computer-based testing (CBT) option compared to previous years.

The council had earlier indicated that the results would be released about 45 days after the final examination paper.
