Court Approves Order To Serve Mohbad's Wife, Wunmi DNA Test Notice

The Chief Magistrate Court in Ikorodu has permitted DNA test notice service for Wunmi, the wife of late singer Mohbad, through substituted means.

This decision allows Mohbad’s family to serve the DNA test notice to Wunmi at her last-known address.

The Chief Magistrate Court in Ikorodu has ruled that Wunmi, the wife of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, can now be served a DNA test notice through substituted means.

VerseNews reports that a statement on Wednesday signed by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the legal team for the Aloba family, confirmed the court’s decision.

The legal team, led by Emmanuel Oroko, had argued that previous attempts by the court sheriff to serve Wunmi with court documents had failed.

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, had filed an application with the legal team seeking an order to serve Wunmi by posting all originating and other processes in the suit on her last-known address.

The court granted the request, allowing service by posting the court process on Wunmi’s last-known address, which would constitute good service and ensure she is aware of the pending suit.

The Aloba family is contesting the paternity of baby Liam and filed an application before the Family Court seeking an order for Wunmi and baby Liam to undergo a DNA test at a recognized laboratory in Lagos.

Despite Wunmi’s claim in a viral video that she is ready for a DNA test, she has reportedly not been available for the court sheriff to serve her the originating motion.

This recent ruling represents a significant step in the ongoing legal dispute over the paternity of Mohbad’s child, allowing for progress in the investigation.
