The EFCC had earlier declared him wanted on September 5 after he reportedly ignored several summons, but he later surrendered himself to the agency.

The court order, granted on Friday, allows the EFCC to keep him in custody pending the conclusion of investigations into claims that he collected ₦5.7 billion as mobilisation funds for the construction of 22 Smart Green Schools but failed to deliver on the projects.

According to filings, Ogundele allegedly received half of the contract sum in February 2025, with a six-month mandate for completion. However, government officials maintain that most of the sites remain abandoned, with some still at foundation level despite the mobilisation.
