A student of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), identified simply as Ademola, has alleged that a soldier attempted to sexually assault her during the invasion of students’ hostels by personnel from the Army Depot, Osogbo.

Speaking in a video shared online, Ademola said she was alone in her hostel room preparing a meal when the incident occurred. Although she initially noticed soldiers around the area and thought the situation had calmed down, she claimed they later returned and began knocking on students’ doors.

“They asked me to open my door and I did. One of them asked how many of us were inside the room and I told him two. I also told him my roommate wasn’t around,” she recounted.

According to the student, one of the soldiers allegedly pinned her against the bathroom door and attempted to assault her.

“He pinned me to my bathroom door, told me I would like it and warned me not to shout. I begged him and looked for a way to free myself,” she alleged.

“His colleague came in and told me to calm down, that I would love it and that I shouldn’t shout. I screamed, and they both left. I then forced the door shut,” she said.

The incident comes after soldiers from the Army Depot, Osogbo, allegedly invaded UNIOSUN students’ hostels on Monday, assaulting students and reportedly carting away more than 60 mobile phones and other electronic devices. Some female students also alleged they were stripped naked and forced to dance unclothed during the raid.
