First Lady Welcomes First 2024 Baby In Abuja,

A baby boy, Boluwatife Johnson is the first baby of the new year in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), he was delivered at exactly 12.03am at the National Hospital Abuja.

VerseNews reports that speaking at the National Hospital, Abuja, where the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu welcomed the first baby of the year 2024 urged nursing mothers to take care of their babies, ensure timely immunization, practice exclusive breastfeeding, and provide nutritious weaning food for brain development.

She emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and knowing HIV/AIDS status for expectant mothers to prevent mother-to-child transmission.

She encouraged expectant mothers to prioritize antenatal and postnatal care, practice basic hygiene, and register their babies with the National Population Commission.

Tinubu also highlighted the Renewed Hope Initiative’s collaboration with UNICEF to ensure the registration of all births in Nigeria for children’s rights and protection.

During her visit, she encountered a set of conjoined twins at the hospital.

The Doctor who took the delivery says this is the first time in 3 years the hospital is having the unique opportunity to birth the first baby of the year.

In a symbolic way to welcome the bundle of Joy, the First Lady, in company of the wife of the Vice President and the Minister for Women Affairs visits the National Hospital where the first baby was delivered, they all came bearing gifts.
