Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, have obtained the African Democratic Congress (ADC) expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Another presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has also picked up the forms, promising to focus on security, economic recovery, job creation and the rising cost of living if elected.
The National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, confirmed the development on Friday.
“Yes, the three of them (Atiku, Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen) have obtained the forms,” says Abdullahi.
The ADC presidential nomination form costs N90 million.
Hayatu-Deen officially received his form from the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, on Friday and stressed the need for the 2027 election to focus on addressing insecurity and economic hardship across the country.
In a statement, he said Nigerians were facing worsening living conditions and growing insecurity.
“Nigerians are tired of living in fear. They are tired of watching businesses struggle, jobs disappear, and the cost of basic necessities rise beyond what ordinary people can afford,” he said.
“This election cannot be about politics as usual. It must be about how to secure our communities, rebuild confidence in the economy, create jobs at scale, and make life more affordable for millions of Nigerians.
“We cannot build prosperity in an atmosphere of fear and instability. Security is the foundation upon which every strong economy is built.”
