Fuel Price Hits N1,000 As Scarcity, Long Queues Returns In Abuja

VerseNews reports that this is coming barely 24 hours after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) denied the return of subsidy on the product, most filling stations were locked yesterday, as long queues were seen at the few that were dispensing fuel to motorists.
Many filling stations in Abuja are closed, and prices have increased, with independent retailers selling at N625 per litre and NNPCL at N613 per litre.
Black market prices have risen from N750 to N1,000 per litre.
This comes despite President Bola Tinubu’s earlier statement that there would be no increase in petrol prices.
