Former Big Brother Naija winner Mercy Eke has revealed that she sometimes regrets participating in the reality television show, saying fame has made it difficult for her to find lasting love despite the opportunities and success it brought her.

The reality TV star made the disclosure during an emotional conversation with media personality Toke Makinwa, where she spoke candidly about her struggles with relationships, marriage and life after becoming a public figure.

According to Mercy, while winning BBNaija transformed her career and opened doors to numerous opportunities, it also brought challenges that have affected her personal life.

“I regret going to Big Brother, even though I love the benefits that came from it. I fall in love too easily. Now I keep telling myself that I want to get married, but it hasn’t been easy,” she said.

Mercy explained that fame has complicated her search for a life partner, adding that financial imbalance has been a recurring issue in many of her past relationships.

She also disclosed that she had financially supported some of the men she dated, revealing that she gave money to more than one former partner because they were struggling financially.

“I have dated guys that I have given a lot of money to—not one, not two—because they didn’t have,” she added.

Her comments quickly sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions about her remarks.

While some sympathised with her, arguing that fame often complicates personal relationships, others questioned her statement, noting that she returned to the BBNaija franchise after initially winning the show.
