- The Ogun State Police Command says the prime suspect in the alleged murder of former OGTV broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard confessed that he orchestrated the attack to “teach her a lesson” over grievances from his time working for her.

The Ogun State Police Command has disclosed that the prime suspect in the alleged murder of former Ogun State Television broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, confessed that he planned the attack to “teach her a lesson.”
Speaking at a press briefing in Abeokuta on Thursday, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, said the prime suspect, identified as Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, was arrested following forensic analysis of a note discovered inside the deceased’s recovered vehicle.
According to the police, Philip, 22, was arrested at a construction site in Ibara, Abeokuta, where he was working as a labourer.
Further investigations led to the arrest of two other suspects, identified as Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola and Sobu Obafunsho.
The police commissioner said Philip allegedly admitted coordinating the attack because of grievances he had with Oyesiku while working as her security guard.
“The suspect stated that the murder of Madam Olakitan Oyesiku was intended to ‘teach her a lesson’,” Ojajuni said.
According to the police, the suspects allegedly overpowered security guard Pelumi Adetayo before using him to gain access to Oyesiku’s residence.
After gaining entry, they allegedly attacked and killed the former broadcaster before also murdering the security guard.
The suspects reportedly fled with Oyesiku’s Lexus RX 330 vehicle, which was later recovered through intelligence-led and technical tracking operations.
Police also recovered several exhibits linked to the crime, including a broken hammer, a cutlass, a plank and a black pen.
The Ogun State Police Command said investigations are ongoing and assured the public that all suspects connected to the crime would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
“The Command remains committed to ensuring that justice is served and that all persons connected with this heinous crime are brought to book,” the commissioner added.
