The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested three blind men involved in an illicit drug ring between Lagos and Kano, with another blind member of the syndicate still at large.
VerseNews reports that this was made known by the agency’s Director, Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
According to the statement, investigation began when a blind suspect, Adamu Hassan, was arrested with 12kgs of skunk in Abuja.
Further operations led to the arrest of Bello Abubakar, the syndicate’s leader.
Two other blind suspects, Muktar Abubakar and Akilu Amadu, were involved in the illicit drug trade, with the intended receiver, Mallam Aminu, currently at large.
In separate operations, the NDLEA recovered 14,481,519 pills of Tramadol and bottles of codeine syrup worth over N13 billion in street value in Lagos.
The operations targeted drug cartels operating in different areas.
