Nigerian Policemen Shoot A Teenage Boy During A ‘Stop-And-Search’ In Delta (Video)

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force on stop-and-search along the East-West Road in Ughelli, Delta State have reportedly shot a teenage boy in the abdomen and leg.
VerseNews reports that the police authorities have confirmed the incident but could not disclose the reason for shooting the young boy which took place on Tuesday evening.
A video of the incident was shared by @GlofameConcepts on his X (formerly Twitter) account, and it showed the victim lying inside a car with a bullet wound on his left leg and lower abdomen.
In the video, the voice of the victim’s brother was heard lamenting in pidgin English, “They don shoot my brother, see them here. They don shoot my brother oh! (Crying) They don shoot my brother Victor. See oga wey shoot am here.” Showing the policeman, he said the “motor no go move. See the oga that shoot am here.”

However, @GlofameConcepts wrote in the video shared on X, “Operative of the Nigeria Police Force on stop and check along East-West road Ughelli, has allegedly open fire on a boy, with bullet hitting his leg and abdomen….. @Brightgoldenboy no go see this one…una no go check the wolf’s wey una give uniform and gun”
Meanwhile, the Command’s spokesperson DSP Edafe Bright has confirmed the incident, adding that the policeman who shot the boy had been disarmed and detained.
He assured Nigerians that justice must be served in the case.
“This is a very sad event and I want to assure members of the public that the command is not taking this lightly. The inspector who shot has been disarmed and detained while we hope and pray that the young man recovers soon. Justice must be served; I assure you all,” he said.
