- Popular cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has called on the Federal Government to release IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, warning that growing public frustration could trigger intensified protests against the Tinubu administration.

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Ayodele made the appeal while addressing members of his congregation in a video that surfaced online on Saturday.
The cleric argued that if the government chooses to continue detaining Kanu, it should apply the same standard to Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.
“Try and release Nnamdi Kanu,” Ayodele said.
He maintained that treating both figures differently could raise questions about fairness and the government’s sincerity in handling sensitive national issues.
Ayodele also warned that public dissatisfaction could continue to grow if authorities fail to address concerns being raised by Nigerians.
“Protest will seize this Tinubu government,” he added.

The IPOB leader remains one of the most discussed figures in Nigeria’s political and security landscape, with supporters insisting on his release while legal proceedings surrounding his case continue to attract national attention.
Ayodele’s latest remarks have further fueled conversations about Kanu’s detention and the potential political implications of the government’s handling of the matter.
