Pastor Titilayo Adewale, daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, has dismissed as false a viral statement alleging that she criticised the church’s leadership for sidelining her late father’s legacy.

In a statement shared on her Facebook page on Monday, Adewale denied authoring the widely circulated message, which claimed that many senior pastors in the RCCG were unaware that her father founded the church and accused the leadership of failing to preserve his legacy.

She described the statement as fabricated and urged the public to disregard it.

“My attention has been drawn to a statement attributed to me regarding The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the legacy of my father.

“I want to clarify that the statement attributed to me is not from me, either implicitly or explicitly,” she said.

Adewale stressed that her father never sought earthly recognition during his lifetime and would not have been concerned about whether his name or image appeared on church buildings or institutions.

“For the record, Baba’s image or no image on any edifice on earth is nothing compared to making Heaven with his full face being recognised,” she stated.

She explained that the greatest legacy left by the late Akindayomi was the lives he impacted rather than physical structures or monuments.

According to her, her father was passionate about building people, not buildings, and never believed in accumulating wealth or personal possessions.

“My father consistently believed in building people rather than merely constructing buildings.”

She added that it was difficult to convince him to own a personal building while he was alive, making it illogical to suggest he would desire public recognition through institutions bearing his name.

Adewale further alleged that those spreading the false statement were only trying to create unnecessary controversy and division within the church.

She maintained that the reports were neither about her nor her father, but were designed to distract from the church’s mission and sow discord among members.

Calling on those behind the misinformation to stop spreading false narratives, she also expressed her support for the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, praying for wisdom, strength and God’s continued guidance for him, his family and the church’s leadership.

She concluded by wishing members of the RCCG worldwide a successful annual convention.
