The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has signed the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N800bn into law.

VerseNews reports that the development comes barely 24 hours after Fubura presented the N800 billion annual budget to a five-member House of Assembly led by speaker Edison Ehie on Wednesday.

In record time, Gov Fubura penned his signature to the budget on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Martins Amaewhule-led faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly, which is made up of 26 members, convened a sitting on Thursday.

The plenary session was held at the auditorium of the Assembly quarters on Aba Road, Port Harcourt.

The state has been entangled in a political crisis since Gov Fubura and the current Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, fell apart.

While Fubura backs the state house under the leadership of Ehis, the Amaewhule-led faction is loyal to Wike.
