During the November Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu, urging immediate action against escalating insecurity and religious killings across Nigeria.

He advised diplomacy, accountability, and firm deadlines for security chiefs.

Adeboye Sounds Alarm Over Rising Insecurity

Amid growing fears of a Christian genocide in Nigeria, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has broken his silence, warning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act decisively before the situation spirals out of control.

Speaking at the November Holy Ghost Service in the Redemption City, Adeboye called for wisdom, speed, and diplomacy in tackling insecurity.

“If I am asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to the government to move wisely, diplomatically,” he said.

“I have cousins who are Muslims. When I was little, we ate together — but this issue of religion only started when politics entered religion.”

He emphasized that despite meeting several Nigerian presidents in the past on security and religious crises, his role has always been advisory.

“You can only advise a Commander-in-Chief; you cannot command him. But I have tried. God is my witness,” Adeboye said.

‘Give Security Chiefs 90 Days or Replace Them’

Adeboye urged Tinubu to issue a direct and time-bound order to security agencies, stressing that the government must act both urgently and diplomatically — especially in dealings with international powers like the United States.

“Move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely,” he said. “Find a way to convince the President of America to delay his actions for about 100 days, and then tell our security chiefs to eliminate these terrorists within 90 days or resign.”

He referenced a similar directive once issued by former President Muhammadu Buhari to eliminate Boko Haram, but which ultimately failed due to lack of follow-through.

“Buhari gave the order but didn’t follow up. This time, when Tinubu issues such commands, it must include a crackdown on terrorism sponsors — no matter how powerful they are.”

Warning on Foreign Dependence and Leadership Truth

The revered cleric also cautioned Nigeria against relying too heavily on global powers, warning that in a real crisis, the country would be on its own.

“If America attacks us, China won’t defend us. Russia and Britain will condemn it, but they won’t help us,” he warned.

Adeboye also expressed concern about President Tinubu’s recent remarks on security, saying those around the president may be misleading him.

“When I heard my in-law (Tinubu) say displaced people have returned to their villages, I almost said the one who wrote that speech doesn’t like him. The next day, we heard a traditional ruler was killed in Kwara,” he lamented.

He admitted Tinubu inherited a long-standing security problem but insisted excuses must now give way to results.

“Our President inherited this problem. But as an applied mathematician, I am only interested in seeing the problem solved,” Adeboye said.

Appeal for Diplomatic Dialogue and Accountability

Adeboye repeated his plea for diplomatic engagement with the U.S. and immediate reform within Nigeria’s security structure.

“Let the government use diplomacy to convince the American President to give us 100 days of grace to let our security chiefs perform within three months or resign,” he urged.

He maintained that real leadership must combine wisdom with urgency, saying Nigeria could no longer afford delays in addressing killings and terrorism.

‘Peace Will Return to Nigeria,’ Adeboye Declares

Despite the stern tone of his message, Pastor Adeboye ended on a note of faith and hope, assuring Nigerians that divine peace would ultimately prevail.

“God said this will be a remarkable year. Though the wind may be more violent, one way or another, there will be peace again in Nigeria.”

His remarks have since sparked widespread reactions across social media, particularly among Christians urging the government to take stronger action against persecution and insecurity.

In June 2022, Adeboye had similarly warned leaders after the Owo church massacre, saying, “A nation divided by bloodshed cannot progress.”
