- The Lagos State chapter of the APC has unveiled its campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections, naming Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, and former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro among key members.

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the structure of its campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode among those listed in key positions.
The list was released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre as the party prepares for its electioneering activities in the state.
Prince Tajudeen Olusi is listed as Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council, while Governor Sanwo-Olu is named Advisory Council Chairman.
Former Lagos governors Fashola and Ambode are listed as Co-Chairmen of the advisory structure.
Other prominent figures listed in the advisory council include Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu; Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly; and former Minister of Health, Adeleke Mamora.
At the campaign council level, Sanwo-Olu is listed as Chairman, while his deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, is named Deputy Chairman.
The council also names Ojelabi Cornelius as Vice Chairman I, Obasa as Vice Chairman II and Damilola Sonayon James as Vice Chairman III.
Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is listed as Director-General of the campaign council, with Rasaq Ajala serving as Deputy Director-General and Adekunle Olayinka as Campaign Secretary.
The campaign structure includes several directorates and sub-committees covering different areas of the party’s election activities.
Among the areas listed are legal and compliance, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations.
The structure also provides for grassroots mobilisation across Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.
The Legal and Compliance Directorate is to be headed by Lawal Pedro, SAN, while Moshood Mayegun is listed to lead the Party and Inter-Party Affairs Directorate.
Adekunle Olayinka is also listed as head of the Secretariat Administration and Logistics Directorate, while Kunle Odufuwa is named head of Traditional Institutions.
Other appointments include Gbolahan Gbadamosi as head of Diaspora Engagement and Azeez Aremu Amusat as head of Residents’ Associations, Community Development Associations and Estates.
The unveiling of the campaign council comes as political parties begin preparations for the 2027 elections across the country.
The Lagos APC campaign council is scheduled to be formally inaugurated on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the party’s secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja, Lagos.
The full structure released by the party contains several directorates, committees and grassroots coordination positions covering different aspects of its campaign organisation.
