Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has publicly shown support for celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest following reports of his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election in Imo State.
In a message shared through the Insta-Stories section of his official Instagram page, Seyi Tinubu encouraged the nightlife entrepreneur not to lose hope despite the political setback.
According to him, losing a political battle could sometimes lead to greater victories in the future.
“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up Cubana Chief Priest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” Seyi Tinubu wrote.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, later reposted the message on his own Instagram story, seemingly confirming the outcome of the primary election.
The celebrity businessman had contested for the APC ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, he lost the party’s ticket to incumbent lawmaker Canice More Nwachukwu, who is currently serving his second term in the House of Representatives.

The development generated reactions on social media, with many Nigerians discussing Cubana Chief Priest’s entry into politics and the increasing involvement of celebrities in elective positions ahead of the 2027 elections.
Cubana Chief Priest has remained active in APC political activities and currently serves as a key figure in the City Boy Movement, a political support group backing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Despite the defeat, the businessman has repeatedly reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and his commitment to supporting the party ahead of the next general elections.
