The Grammy-winning singer took to his X account on Friday to post a video showing him and Shakira embracing, smiling and chatting during rehearsals at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where Spain and Argentina will battle for the World Cup title on Sunday.

Captioning the clip, Burna Boy wrote:

“Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!”

The video, accompanied by behind-the-scenes photos, captured the two global music stars sharing laughter and a warm hug outside the production area as preparations intensify for the historic event.

The performance will mark FIFA’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show at a World Cup final, with Burna Boy and Shakira set to headline the entertainment spectacle.

The duo will perform “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, after previously debuting the song during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City.

To accommodate the landmark performance, FIFA is expected to extend the traditional halftime break from 15 minutes to approximately 30 minutes, allowing for both match analysis and an estimated 11-minute live performance.

The star-studded halftime show is also expected to feature appearances from BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, alongside beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.

According to FIFA, the event will also promote global education initiatives aimed at improving access to learning opportunities for children around the world.

Sunday’s World Cup final will see Argentina face Spain, with football fans eagerly awaiting both the clash on the pitch and the groundbreaking halftime entertainment.
