In the ongoing Binance Tax Evasion Case, the Federal High Court in Abuja adjourned proceedings due to the FIRS’s challenge in serving one of the accused, Tigran Gambaryan, who is in EFCC custody.
The case alleges that Binance Holdings Limited and its executives failed to register with the FIRS and issue invoices for Value Added Taxes (VAT) while providing taxable services on their trading platform.
A Federal High Court in Abuja recently adjourned a case concerning tax evasion, with Binance Holdings Limited and its executives at the center.
VerseNews reports that the case, initiated by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), alleges that the firm evaded taxes.
Joined in the lawsuit are company officials Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, who is reportedly on the run.
This Online News Media gathered that in the suit numbered FHC/ABJ/CR/115/2024, Binance faces accusations of failing to register with the FIRS and failing to pay relevant taxes.
The FIRS further claims that while providing taxable services on its trading platform, Binance neglected to issue invoices to subscribers for determining and paying Value Added Taxes (VAT).
The adjournment, which occurred on Thursday, was prompted by the FIRS’ difficulty in serving Gambaryan, who is in EFCC custody, with the charges.
Meanwhile, a separate money laundering case initiated by the EFCC against the involved parties is currently in progress.
This is a developing story, more details coming soon…
