The meeting follows growing speculation of a possible opposition coalition to challenge the APC.

The 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, held a closed-door meeting with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed at the Ramat House in Bauchi State on Thursday.

VerseNews reports that the purpose of the visit has not yet been disclosed, but both politicians are expected to address journalists after their discussions.

The meeting between the Labour Party chieftain and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart comes amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obi, who came third in the 2023 presidential election won by APC’s Bola Tinubu, had a strong showing with 6,101,533 votes, securing victory in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Meanwhile, opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar and Nasir El-Rufai, have been seen strategizing for 2027, sparking speculation about a possible coalition to challenge the APC.
