Leaked WhatsApp chats allegedly show Iyabo Ojo, Samklef, and others plotting to frame Naira Marley for Mohbad’s death. VDM says more exposés are coming.
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo is currently trending on social media after controversial activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM), released a bombshell 12-minute video alleging that she and others conspired to falsely pin the death of singer Mohbad on fellow artist, Naira Marley.

According to VDM, shortly after Mohbad’s tragic passing on September 12, 2023, a WhatsApp group named “Concerned Citizens of…” was created. The group allegedly included Iyabo Ojo, Jigan, Tonto Dikeh, Samklef, Oba Ksolo, Drey (Davido’s PRO), Aloma DMW, Barrister Aramide, Iyabo’s lawyer Funmi, JBO, a rep for Bella Shmurda, a tech designer, and some unnamed individuals.
VDM claims the original intent of the group might have been to seek justice for Mohbad, but it quickly became a tool for pushing a particular narrative — that Naira Marley was responsible for the singer’s death. This, according to him, was despite the fact that Naira Marley was not in the country when Mohbad died.
VDM, who had consistently challenged the prevailing narrative, argued that investigators should have focused on those who were physically with Mohbad during his final moments, rather than scapegoating Naira Marley or the nurse who treated him.
The tension reportedly escalated when VDM asked Mohbad’s partner, Wunmi, to take a DNA test to confirm the paternity of her son, Liam — following viral reports suggesting alleged infidelity. This call triggered a backlash from members of the WhatsApp group, whom VDM nicknamed the “CC Gang.”

VDM alleged that Drey was the puppet master, sponsoring influencers and blog platforms to push targeted attacks against him and those questioning the official narrative. He also claimed that it was from this group that his nude pictures were leaked to GistLover — a failed attempt to blackmail and silence him.
The situation intensified further as VDM, along with Reno Omokri, Kemi Olunloyo, and others, were accused by the group of being on the payroll of the government or Naira Marley. He was later arrested in March on charges of cyberbullying and defamation, but insists the move was orchestrated by members of the WhatsApp group to shut him up.

Screenshots from the group, as shared by VDM, allegedly include:
- Iyabo Ojo: “Na Davido dey encourage the guy.”
- Samklef: “The guy is doing too much, who is sponsoring him, Kemi and Reno?”
- Jigan: “Nigerian Government.”
- Aloma DMW: “Naira Marley and his camp.”

VDM concluded by insisting that GistLover is a paid weapon used for blackmail and that while Iyabo Ojo may not be the mastermind, Drey definitely knows more than he’s letting on. He promises that more exposés are on the way.
In response, Samklef confirmed the existence of the WhatsApp group but denied any wrongdoing. He insisted the group was not a secret and challenged VDM to show evidence that they ever acted against justice for Mohbad.

As the saga continues to unravel, many fans have taken to social media to express fatigue and frustration, calling for Mohbad to finally be allowed to rest in peace.
