BBNaija Winner, Imisi Reveals Plans to Support the Girl Child

The winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has revealed plans to establish a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) focused on supporting the girl child in Nigeria.

Speaking after receiving an additional ₦2 million cheque from BetKing in Lagos, Imisi described the gesture as both overwhelming and inspiring. The prize was awarded for a competition she won while in the BBNaija house, sponsored by the betting company.

While expressing gratitude for her BBNaija experience and the latest cash prize, Imisi opened up about her childhood struggles, describing them as “dramatic and challenging.”

“As a lady, I know what it was growing up,” she said. “So for me, I would like to do something for the girl child — maybe a foundation. That has always been my desire, and I really want to do that.”

The reality TV star, who had been acting before joining the show, credited the Big Brother Naija platform for elevating her public profile and creating opportunities for her acting career.

“I have been an actress for a while, but Big Brother really gave me the exposure I needed,” Imisi said. “It means a whole lot to me.”

At the cheque presentation, Nengi Akinola, Head of Marketing at BetKing, explained that the company’s collaboration with Big Brother Naija was designed to reward housemates and promote exclusive BetKing games to a wider audience.

She cited examples such as Danfo Lagos, JJ Ball X (a partnership with Jay-Jay Okocha), and Film House, saying the entertainment-focused campaign allowed BetKing to connect with millions of viewers.

“The possibilities are endless,” Akinola added. “We are analysing the value we’ve gained from this partnership to see what the future holds.”
