  • The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has resumed collation of results for the Anambra governorship election, with APGA’s Chukwuma Soludo maintaining a clean sweep across all 21 local government areas announced so far.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has resumed the collation of results for the Anambra State governorship election after a brief adjournment earlier in the day.

The State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, had announced the temporary suspension of proceedings before resuming the exercise on Saturday evening.

Upon resumption, results from Anambra West and Ihiala Local Government Areas were declared by the presiding officers, showing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Chukwuma Soludo, maintaining a dominant lead.

So far, Soludo has won in all 21 local government areas declared by the commission, positioning him strongly ahead of other contenders as INEC continues the final collation process.
