The All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to dominate Nigeria’s political landscape at the state level, controlling 27 out of the country’s 36 governorship seats, according to an updated breakdown of governors by political party as of December 14, 2025.

The distribution highlights the ruling party’s strong grip across nearly all geopolitical zones, while opposition parties maintain control of only a few states.
