The English Football League (EFL) has confirmed the draw for the Carabao Cup semi-finals, with Manchester City set to face defending champions Newcastle United in a high-profile last-four clash.

The draw was released late Wednesday night on the EFL’s official website, following Manchester City’s 2–0 victory over Brentford and Newcastle’s dramatic stoppage-time win against Fulham, results that secured both sides’ places in the semi-finals.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will have to wait to learn their opponents, as they are scheduled to face the winner of the quarter-final tie between Arsenal and Crystal Palace. That fixture is set to take place on Tuesday, December 23, at the Emirates Stadium.

Earlier in the week, Chelsea booked their semi-final spot with a hard-fought 3–1 away victory over Cardiff City, a side managed by club legend Frank Lampard. Goals from Garnacho and Neto proved decisive as the Blues sealed qualification.
