The governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP), Gbadegbo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) has on Thursday March 17 announced that he visited the Oba of Lagos State, Rilwan Akiolu in his palace.
VerseNews Nigeria gathered that his entourage visit was to assure the Oba and his council that the Eko Heritage Culture and Traditions will receive maximum government support under his administration.
“I was accompanied by my father and team to visit and pay our respects to the Oba of Lagos, we indigenous Lagosians will always respect and revere our tradition rulers, and I look forward to working with them to build a beeter Lagos.” GRV wrote.
Akiolu was delighted to see GRV coming out to contest but insisted that the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the election on Saturday, March 18.

The top monarch assured GRV that he has a bright future, but that he would not win this election.
He prayed for the LP flag bearer and wished him well in his future endeavors, adding that contesting for the governorship seat is never a bad idea.
“Please, don’t relent after this contest but I am fully behind Sanwo-Olu.”
“I am not an hero worshipper and gossiper. For Gbadebo, the future is open to you. God will not kill you; there is nothing wrong in you contesting. All of those contesting are my children.”
“I pray by the authority in this palace, God should help us to turn the state better. There is no way I can hate the Igbo because they are among my best friends,” Akiola said.
