Frank Lampard has signed a new contract with Coventry City that will keep him at the club until 2029, following their successful promotion to the Premier League.
The former Chelsea and England midfielder guided the Sky Blues back to England’s top flight after winning last season’s Championship, ending the club’s 25-year absence from the Premier League.
Reacting to his new deal, Lampard expressed his delight at continuing his journey with Coventry.
“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract, it’s a real honour to represent this club,” he said.
The 48-year-old, who took charge of Coventry in November 2024, praised the collective effort that secured promotion and said the focus has already shifted to preparing for the challenges of the Premier League.
“After the incredible work of everybody to get promoted and win the Championship, it was important to enjoy the moment… Our job now is to recharge and focus on what we need to do for next season. There’s a lot of work to do on and off the pitch,” Lampard added.
Coventry will begin their Premier League campaign with a difficult away fixture against reigning champions Arsenal on August 21, as Lampard looks to establish the club back among England’s elite.
