Adeleke Secures Second Term

Adeleke, who contested the governorship election under the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, at the INEC State Collation Centre in Osogbo on Sunday morning.

The declaration followed the collation of results from all 30 local government areas in the state.

The governor polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.

Adeleke won the election by a margin of 66,252 votes, securing another four-year term as governor of Osun State.

The victory has continued to generate celebrations among Adeleke’s supporters, family members and political allies, with the emotional moment between the governor and his elder sister becoming one of the memorable scenes following the election.
